Shared joy is triple joy – you will experience and tackle this competition as a relay team of three.
333 teams. One goal. To be World Champions. Medals and titles will be awarded in three relay categories: women, men and mixed.
Three runners, three distances, three route profiles: 25 km/1900 m, 57 km/3400 m, and 40 km/2100 m. You will complete the last kilometre together and arrive as a team at the Alpen Arena, Bad Hofgastein.
Night start at 4:00 am. Individual start times with a chasing start. 333 runners will start the first route within 60 minutes. Everyone will be celebrated.
The Prologue is an individual uphill on the Stubnerkogel, which you will tackle together. The teams’ results will determine the order in which they start the World Championships. Everyone may take part in the Vertical Open. You must get yourself up to the top, but you can take the cable car back down again until 12:00 midnight. At the top, we will have a great summit party.

Bring your family and friends with you, because they can get close to the action and experience your race with you. They can always be a step ahead of you by taking the bus and the cable car, so that they can loudly cheer you on along the route.
Our partner hotels offer a first-class athletes’ service, including a shuttle to the start. At the finish, the Athletes Garden at the Alpentherme is waiting for you: there, you can enjoy a sauna, a thermal water bathing lake, adidas Reload Center (including massage service and physiotherapy) and a pasta buffet.
The Alpen Arena in Bad Hofgastein forms the backdrop for a unique start and finish area. This is where we will celebrate the World Champions, every handover and, of course, all the teams that finish.
There will also be a morning run with sporting legends, a yoga session at the Alpentherme, an open-air cinema and a pre-race brunch, as well as lectures given by experts. You’ll be spoiled for choice.
